Tristan Robinson
2007 - March 2, 2011
Find A Grave Memorial

When searching for information about this beautiful little boy, I saw pictures of his mother looking all sad and like she had been crying. WHY do the people who kill these innocent children then go on to look all sad as though their lives are over and they have been wronged? I have asked myself that question so many times I lost count.

Terrie A. Robinson, who was 24 years old at the time, put her son, Tristan Robinson in the oven and turned it on. Terrie called 911 and what was found horrified even the strongest of men. Claiming her son had been burned in the oven, Terrie called emergency services and when they arrived at her home, they found Tristan's body inside of the electric oven, just after midnight. Tristan's body was still warm when the emergency crew had to remove it from the oven.

Later, Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said that an autopsy would reveal if Tristan had been dead or not before he was put into the oven. Methel said there had been some head trauma, though he wasn't sure at what point the head trauma had happened:

"This is a really sad moment for me. I've seen a lot of things, but this is one that will stick
in my memory for a long, long time"

Another child, a little girl, was found in the home and was taken away to the Mississippi Department Of Human Services, though it wasn't known if the other child was Terrie's or not. Terrie's twin sister, Sherrie Robinson told people not to judge her sister:

"She was a great parent, a good person. We don't know what's wrong. We
don't know what happened. Do not sit there and call her a bad mom
cause that's not what she is"

Really??? What's WRONG with you, Sherrie? We know what happened! Your sister took her son, she put him into a hot oven and she cooked him until he was dead. Not a bad mom? Terrie Robinson is one of the WORST kinds of mothers there is. I suppose someone will try to say she was mentally ill, sorry, if you're ill, you get help, you do NOT kill your child! Where is your love and sympathy and compassion for your nephew? I am SO SO SO tired of people defending those who kill their children. I'm tired in my mind, body and soul. Sherrie, LOOK at the face of your nephew and please soften up your heart for HIM!

Terrie was charged with murder in the death of Tristan and bond was set at five million dollars by City Judge Michael Prewitt during Terrie's first court appearance. Methel Johnson said that the autopsy revealed that Tristan HAD been alive when his mother put him in the oven, though a pathologist was trying to figure out if he had been conscious or not.

I want to thank Joann for sending me this story. There isn't a lot out there about this story, if anyone has any updates, please feel free to e-mail me and I will add new information.

UPDATE:

In April of 2012, Terrie Robinson was sentenced to life in prison for killing her son. Terri sat before Judge Ashley Hines and plead guilty to the murder of Tristan. It also came out that Tristan had been alive when she placed him, naked, into the oven. The Coroner, Methel Johnson, had hoped that Tristan had died prior to being placed in the oven, though an autopsy showed different:

"His cause of death was thermal injury as a result of the heat from the stove. We can not
relate if he was
conscious or unconscious at the time or not. But the heat injury may have
indirectly or directly come from
him rolling over in the oven. He hadn't been deceased that
long. The actual time of death was probably around 10:00 p.m., but I pronounced him
after I arrived around 1:02 a.m."

I want to thank Regina for updating me on this story. With so many children on my site and so many more needing to be added, it helps so much when someone cares enough to let me know about updates. I am so thankful to so many people who have helped to make these pages the best they can be. The credit goes to all of us!
