Caylee Marie Anthony
There must be Borrowed Angels, here
in this life
They come along, into this world, and
make this
world bright
But they can't stay forever, cause
they're Heaven
sent
And sometimes, Heaven needs them back
again
Sung by: Kristin Chenoweth

The heart of the world went out to a
little girl named
Caylee Marie Anthony as her mother, Casey Anthony filed a missing child
report on July 15, 2008. The child had supposedly been missing for 31
days
before her mother could be bothered to report her missing. Caylee's
grandparents
and uncle had not seen her for the entire time and Casey had managed to
hold them off with excuses. Casey claimed
that her nanny, Zenaida
Gonzales,
had kidnapped Caylee.

When the police asked why she had
waited so long
to report her daughter as missing, Casey said that she had been trying
to find her on her own and felt that she could handle it herself. This
would be the first of what seemed to be many many lies Casey Anthony
would
tell in relation to her daughter having disappeared.
Casey proceeded to lead the police on
a wild goose
chase, taking them to places where she supposedly had a job and then
admitting
she didn't. Taking them to empty apartments claiming that they were the
last place she had seen Caylee, when it wasn't true. Lie after lie
would
be told as police desperately tried to find Caylee Marie Anthony.
Caylee lived in the home of her
grandparents, George
and Cindy Anthony with her mother also living there. On June 30, 2008 a
towing company called the Anthony home to report that they had a car
which
Casey had been driving. This was cause for concern since Casey had told
her parents she was going on a vacation, this turned out to be a lie.
Cindy
Anthony called the police on July 15 to report that Caylee was missing:

"I told you my daughter was
missing for a month.
I just found her today, but I can’t find my granddaughter. She just
admitted
to me that she’s been trying to find her herself. There’s
something wrong. I found my
daughters car
today, and it smells like there’s been a dead
body in the damn car"
Cindy Anthony
Cindy also reported that it smelled
like there had
been a dead body in the car. Later, Cindy Anthony would change her
story
to say that there had been a box of old pizza in the trunk of the car
for
19 days which was covered in maggots and that the heat for the past few
days caused the pizza to rot and that the it was the source of the
smell.
It was found to be false, there was no pizza in the car at all. George
Anthony would be interviewed by police and would said that having
worked
in law enforcement, he knew how a decaying body smelled saying it was
something
you never forget and that the smell was a decaying body. When he picked
up the car, he didn't want to open the trunk because the smell was so
strong
and he didn't want his granddaughter or his daughter to be the source
of
the smell.
In interviews with the police, Casey
constantly claimed
that she didn't know where her daughter was and that she had been
kidnapped
by the nanny who had been watching her for about two years. That turned
out to be a lie as well as many other statements she made. When asked
by
the police if she thought that all of the lies she was telling were
helping
to find her daughter, Casey said that she knew it wasn't helping at all
and just made excuses for why she had lied,
claiming she wanted to protect her
daughter:
“Right now, looking at you, I
know that everything
that you’ve told me is a lie, including the
fact that your child was last seen
a month
ago and that you don’t know where she is. I’m
very confident that you know where
she is.”
A detective who was
questioning Casey
“I have no clue where she is.
If I had any
sense of where she was at all, none of this
would have happened.”
Casey Anthony
During the 31 days before reporting
her child missing,
Casey Anthony spent time "looking" for her daughter. Unfortunately, her
definition of looking for her daughter was quite different from what
the
usual definition would be. Casey rented movies with her boyfriend on
the
very day that she says was the last time she saw Caylee. Casey went
shopping,
with a friends checkbook. Casey went to the bars and nightclubs and was
described as the life of the party.

On July 16, 2008,
Casey Anthony was arrested
and charged with neglect of her daughter. Later, detectives would find
signs of human decomposition in the trunk of the car and they would
find
a presence of Chloroform. A computer that was taken from the Anthony
home
through a search warrant would reveal that someone in the home had been
doing searches to find out how to make home made Chloroform as well as
searches on how to break someone's neck and searches were made on
missing children's sights. Further
on in the case
it would be shown that a search was made for the 100th episode of a
television
show called "One Tree Hill. In that episode a child goes missing and
the
mother blames it on the nanny.
On July 22, 2008 the police
decided to treat Caylee's
case as a
|
homicide and they also started calling
Casey a person
of interest. A few days later Cindy Anthony reports an alleged sighting
of Caylee in the state of Georgia. Other sightings would be reported
over
time including one where a cell phone was used to take a picture of a
child
playing in a mall and one where a person supposedly watched a child who
looked like Caylee, in an airport for about 20 minutes. I listened to
news
about these reports and wondered why people could stop to take pictures
or watch a child for 20 minutes and NOT stop to tell someone in a
position
of security that they suspected this was Caylee Anthony, a child who
was
missing from Florida.
In phone calls recorded at the
prison, between Casey
and her parents, there is mention of the fact that Caylee's third
birthday
is coming up and they would like for her to be home for that. August 9,
2008 would have been her third birthday and Caylee remained missing. On
August 17, 2008 a man named Leonard Padilla bonded Casey out of jail
after
she contacted him. Her freedom would be very short lived. On August 30
Casey was arrested and returned to jail on charges that included petty
theft. In September, it was confirmed that Caylee's
body had been in the trunk of the car:
“We clearly have evidence that
indicates there
was a dead body in the trunk of Casey car
and that body was Caylee.”
Orange County Sheriff’ Sgt. John
Allen
Casey had taken the check book of a
friend who had
lent her her car while she was out of town. Casey wrote many checks all
over town, buying things for herself only and nothing for Caylee. Casey
would get out of jail only to be arrested again. Then on October 14,
2008,
Casey was arrested on charges that included first degree murder and
giving
false information to the police.
On December 11, 2008, a city worker
reported finding
a human skull in a wooded area less than half of a mile from the
Anthony
house. The skull was found to be that of a child and had duct tape
around
it. The area was closed off and throughout that same area other bones
were
found. After testing is done, the bones are confirmed to be the remains
of Caylee Anthony.

"With regret I'm here to inform
you that the
skeletal
remains found on December 11, are
those of
the missing toddler, Caylee Anthony. As are
usual protocol, the next of kin
has been notified
prior to making this information public.
This identification was made by
Nuclear DNA
taken from a portion of the remains and compared
to a known profile of Caylee
Anthony. The
DNA analysis was performed by the FBI DNA Lab in Quantico,
Virginia.
Except for the bone specimen
used for the DNA
which has since been returned to my morgue,
the remains have been maintained
and analyzed
at the district 9 morgue here in Orlando. These
have been analyzed by myself, my
Deputy Chief
Medical Examiner and two Forensic Anthropologists, one from the
University
Of Florida and one from the University Of Central Florida.
My examination of the body and
evidence is
complete barring no further bones being found.
And the anthropologic exam will be
finished
up shortly. The remains are completely skeletonized
with no visible soft tissue
present and no
antimortom trauma evident. Meaning that there was
no trauma to the bones, uh, prior
to death.
Toxicology testing is still to
be completed
on the bone and hair. While this analysis may prove
to be informative, it will be
difficult to
interpret levels from these specimens and thus will not be definitive
in
helping determine the cause of death. The manner of death, though, is
an
opinion based
on available information
including: examination
of the body, information from the scene, as well
as circumstantial evidence.
Based on all of this, the
manner of death in
this case is homicide. The cause of death will be listed
as homicide by undetermined means.
Should
other pertinent information become available, the cause
of death may be revisited. While I
would love
to explained the forensic aspects of this case to you,
and any of you know me, know I
would love
to do that. Uh, we must remember that everyone is innocent until proven
guilty. This case needs to be tried in a court of law not the media.
And
thus
I will not discuss specifics of
the findings
of this case at this time.
Medical Examiner Dr. Jan
Garavaglia
George and Cindy Anthony asked for
immunity from
prosecution when being questioned. Why does someone who has nothing to
hide and claims to have had nothing to do with the disappearance of
this
precious little Angel, need immunity? Caylee's Uncle, Lee Anthony, may
face charges of his own. According to Thomas Luka who is Lee Anthony's
lawyer, Lee had been conducting his own investigation for months. The
charges
could be aiding and abetting, even if it was not what he intended to
do.
Thomas Luka says that Lee has been cooperating with the police:
"For that reason, he feels at
this point, now
that the police are focusing completely on Casey,
he wants to make sure that his own
civil rights
are protected."
"Mr. Anthony obviously wants
his civil rights
protected. Everyone involved in the case should
have their rights covered when
determining
what the police can and can
not do or should and should not
expect from
the witnesses involved in this case."
Later in the case it was revealed
that the city employee
who had found the bag which contained Caylee's remains, had called on
three
separate occasions to report something suspicious that he had seen in
that
exact spot. Some people believe that the city worker had something to
do
with the case other than just reporting what he had seen.
..
As of January 2009, there is a battle
going on for
the pictures of the first examination of Caylee's remains. The defense
wants to see the pictures and the prosecution believes if they give
them
the picture, the defense will only try to sell them for a profit.
Pictures
and video of Caylee are alleged to have been sold already, by the
prosecution.
I am not sure what to believe here since the defense will have access
to
the remains and could take their own pictures.
There is some speculation surrounding
two private
investigators, hired by the Anthony family. There is allegedly video of
them near the site where Caylee's remains were found. According to
Leonard
Padilla, there was a conversation where one of the private
investigators
claimed that they knew where Caylee was and when asked if she was alive
he said no and that they were going to go and get her. There was
allegedly
a tape made of the area where Caylee's remains were found, which was
made
in November of 2008.
As of today's date, January 8, 2009,
the remains
of Caylee Marie Anthony are in a cardboard box at the mortuary. The
defense
had stated that the funeral would not be held until a second
examination
could be performed. The second examination has been said to have been
performed
at LEAST five days ago. Casey
Anthony will not be allowed to go to the
funeral, however, if she chooses to do so, she would be able to watch
the
funeral on television while in prison.
I will post updates on this case as
they become available.
UPDATE:
It is with a sad and very heavy heart that I am updating this page. On
July 5th, 2011, the STUPIDEST
jury in the
history of the world found Casey Anthony not guilty of all of the SERIOUS charges
related to her daughters death.
On that jury was one woman who said upfront on the judge that she was
not able to judge other people, the judge
made her stay on the jury any way.
Casey was found guilty of charges
relating to lying to the police and will have to pay back some of the
money
that they used in trying to find Caley. That will show her, right?
Casey is out, free, walking around as though
nothing happened. Her parents have been interviewed and it seems that
her mother has her head in the clouds
and has stated that she would like to see Casey have another child,
though she knows she not mentally right.
She says that if Casey gets help and gets well, she should have another
child if she wants to.
During the trial, Casey's attorney
stated that George had found Caylee in the family pool, that she had
drowned
and he told Casey that her mother would never forgive her. They accused
George of hiding her body. In court
Jose Baez also had the nerve to accuse George of molesting Casey for
many years. It sickens me to know that
someone who killed her daugher, could then go on to accuse or allow her
father to be accused of this kind of act
in order to save her own butt.
We'll see what the future holds for
Casey, hopefully it doesn't hold any more children and though she
deserves to
be in prison for the rest of her life, hopefully the future doesn't
hold revenge for Calee.
<>My own opinion changed while watching
the trial and interviews after the accusations made against George
Anthony by that slug, Jose Baez. I think Cindy Anthony lied several
times in court and that she was covering
something up, not necessarily that she KNEW
what had happend or was involved, however, I do believe she was
trying to protect her daughter, though she clearly didn't deserve it. I
think Jose and Casey threw George to the
wolves in order to cast doubt in the minds of the jurors and it worked
because the jury was a bunch of IDIOTS
who for whatever reason, ignored the facts presented to them by the
Prosecutors.
