Jayden Tufele

Find A Grave Memorial
In October of 2011, in Chicago, Illinois, a three month old baby girl died at the hands of her father who shook her so hard she suffered brain damage. Why did he do this? Because he had "accidentally" bumped her head against a wall, not once, but TWICE, which caused her to cry and he could not get her to stop.

Police questioned the mother and father of this baby girl and eventually Jovanni Tufele, who was 23 years old at the time, admitted to what he had done to this precious little Angel. Jayden was taken to the hospital and found to have a fractured collarbone, four fractured ribs and two that were already healed from earlier breaks, bleeding on her brain as well as retinal hemorrhages in both of her eyes. Sounds to me like a lot more than just bumping her head on a wall and shaking her was done to this little baby. An autopsy showed what had been done to her, 14 broken ribs and only three of them new and her death was ruled a homicide.

Jovanni Tufele was arrested and charged with murder in the death of his daughter and was being held on a two million dollar bond. Jaydeni's mother was questioned and let go without any charges. Though I do have to wonder how a child could have that much done to her and the mother didn't know about it. I find it impossible to believe that this little girl was not crying all the time and how a mother would not wonder why and take her to the doctor to have her checked out.
