OUR
PETS!!!
Domino
Here's a little
someone we called Domino. Domino was given to my
son as a gift for
his 3rd birthday. Though she born of a stray cat and
we adopted her when
she was six weeks old, she always fancied
herself to be royalty
and never accepted anything less than the best
treatment. We didn't
mind though <G> You can just tell by the look she is giving us that
we were "bothering" her by making her get her picture taken. The nerve
of us!
On August 9, 1999...Domino
had a stroke which left her paralized. We had to have her put to sleep.
She has lived on in our hearts every day since that sad day in August all
of those years ago. She was 15 1/2
on the day we had
to put her sleep.

Bram
This was our dog
Bram. We called him BramDog or B. Here he was
doing what he loved
the best, just laying around doing nothing. He was a handsome boy. Bram
was very shy and his bark was 100 times
worse than his bite.
He liked very few people and he was happy with
that being how things
were.
On December 23, 2002
we had to have our Bram dog put to sleep. He had liver disease and other
medical problems. He is never far from our thoughts and never leaves
our hearts.

Thumper
Who's that girl?
That's Thumper who was laying on a shelf above our
fridge even though
she's been told at least a million times, not to. It's
not so hard to tell
that Thumper could care less that she has been
caught doing what
she shouldn't be doing <G>
Thumper has an interesting
story. We had a male cat called Thumper
and after we had
him spayed, he ran away from home. A few months
later, he came home.
We moved to Nevada for a couple of years and
Thumper went with
us. When we came back to Idaho, there was a big
discovery, Thumper
was a girl....WHAT? Turns out, this was not OUR
cat after all. Even
vets never noticed the difference in her LOL
We love her just
the same, though we do wonder where the real
Thumper is after
all of these years. We can only guess at her age and
know she's at least
13 years old as of 2007.
Sadly, we had to
have Thumper put to sleep on July 21, 2008. You can
see her memorial

Cinder
Born January of
2000, Cinder came to us August 26, 2001. She was
rescued from the
shelter and from her previous, icky name, Trixie.
Half Dalmation and
Australian Cattle Dog, she has been a joy in our
lives since the
day we got her. She had been abused and had been at the shelter for over
a month by the age of nine months, when I saw her
on the television
and made the decision to adopt her for my husband birthday. It is
obvious that she HATES to have her picture taken. This is a rarity and
we have very few pictures of her because she is afraid of the noises that
a camera makes. She's afraid of so many things, I couldn't list them all,
she's NOT afraid of us and loves us as much as
we love her.
Cinder is a lovable
dog, though she's not good with strangers or men
in military uniform.
We found out that her previous owner was in the
Air Force and had
abused her. She's got a lot of fear issues, but, she
gets along fine
with us and as of 2007, she is now seven years old
and has been with
us for most of her life.
Cinder is a very
loyal dog and she thinks she's a nurse. She follows
me around and if
I am upset she senses it and stays closer to me. We are lucky to have her
in our lives. Luckily, Cinder has no fear of being
groomed. She loves
to be bathed, combed and to have her nails clipped. |
Dakota
How handsome is
HE? That's Dakota, born August 10, 2001. His
father is Chow/Shepard
mix and his mother Black Lab. Dakota came to us when his mother,
father and brother would not accept him back
after he had been
adopted out and possibly abused. He has been a
member of our family
since July 7, 2002, right before he turned one
year old.
He is gentle, loving
and has brought us a ton of joy. He is convinced
that he is a lap
dog and tries to snuggle up, without much success. He LOVES to watch Animal
Planet and bark at all of the dogs and other animals that come onto the
screen. He's a tough guy when he can't
actually get to
them, but, a 150 pound gentle giant inside.
Dakota loves to play
fetch and tug of war and he will chase a light from morning until night
if we would let him. He's a bit addicted to it and we have to be careful
so he doesn't become obsessed. He loves to be outside no matter what the
weather and will stay outside in a blizzard if we let him.
Dakota is not afraid
of much, though if he sees a comb or nail clipper he runs to the doggy
door and makes his exit. He checks every now and then to see if there is
any grooming going on, by sticking his head into the doggy door and looking
around. If the coast is clear, he comes back inside, if clippers or brushes
are out, he backs out of the door and stays outside. He's so cute! |
