Tell the people of their plight
the Lord did say to him
build the ark and don't forget 
to make it with plenty of room
Bring all the people you can He said
keep them safe within
let them know they need to come
to save them from this doom

Noah told the people 
what the Lord had spoken on that day
I will build the ark he said 
and you can all set sail with me
But they would not listen 
they laughed and sent him on his way
Noah tried to reason with them
but they just would not see

The Lord told Noah gather the animals 
make room for them to stay
make sure you have sets of each one
so they will have a mate
Take them on the ark with you
to keep them safe from day to day
do all of this I ask of you 
and please make sure you are not late

Noah built the sturdy ark
just as the Lord had asked him to
with plenty of room for people 
and animals to make a home
The people laughed and thought him mad 
for still the sky was blue
Noah said you must believe
for from our Lord this word did come

He gathered up the animals
he did just as the Lord had said
some he gatherd just two by two
and some he gathered more
He took them all into the ark 
they went where they were lead
as people scorned and laughed at him
he sadly closed the door

Then the rain began to come
and people knew they had been wrong
but Noah could not help them now
as desperately they cried
Wishing they had decided sooner
that they would like to come along
knowing it would had been better
if they never believed he lied

The rain it came for many days
and also came for many nights
Noah was carried safe inside
as the water began to rise so high
The people who had trusted in him
now knew he had been right
to listen to the Lord
and build the Ark that kept them dry

When at last the rain did stop
Noah sent a bird on flight
when first he sent it, back it came 
the water was still there
Again he sent the bird
and back it came the end was in sight
In it's beak an olive branch 
did show them all that land was near

The Lord had kept them safe inside
just as he had said he would
and with a rainbow promised
no more floods the world would see
Noah knew he and his family
had done just as they should
Showing when the Lord is speaking 
we should listen you and me
